Turn a complex federal requirement into a solution people can evaluate.
2013 · HP solution leadership
The program context
The Department of Homeland Security’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program brought together tools and reporting to help agencies understand their cybersecurity exposure. The practical question was how to make vulnerability and configuration information useful across many organizations.
My contribution
I was the primary solution lead for HP’s successful response. I developed the solution, built a test lab in Plano, hired staff to help build the program, and presented the approach to DHS as key personnel.
Making the proposal concrete
The lab and team gave the architecture a form that could be demonstrated and discussed. The work joined technical design, staffing, and customer communication rather than leaving the response as a set of promises on paper.
Result and scope
HP participated in Phase 1. The engagement illustrates my interest in taking a broad requirement through architecture and demonstration to a delivery team’s next step.
Public context
This reference describes the program. The contribution described above is my account of my work.
