Executive leadership / business judgment / hands-on engineering

Selected Portfolio

Security and technology leadership that helps organizations achieve their objectives.

For boards, business leaders, and teams building what comes next

Make security and technology serve the business.

I help organizations build stable security programs, make informed investments, and put new technology to work. My experience connects board-level judgment with the architecture, teams, and operating practices needed to carry a decision through.

I work as an executive, advisor, and virtual or fractional CISO. The common thread is helping leadership understand what matters, decide what to do, and give people a practical way to move forward.

Board decisions grounded in the work

I translate security and technology into enterprise priorities: mission delivery, operational continuity, contracts, and investment choices. Executive reporting and financial risk registers help make the implications clear enough to discuss and act on.

Due diligence for buyers and sellers

I support both acquisition reviews and preparation for sale-side scrutiny. The work connects technology and security findings with the condition of the business, the work needed after an acquisition, and the evidence leadership needs for due diligence.

Build the program and the team

I design governance, risk, and compliance programs from the ground up and connect them with security operations and engineering. Clear responsibilities, usable procedures, and room for people to contribute turn a roadmap into an operating capability.

Work across borders and requirements

I bring experience with multinational defense requirements, including US DoD, DFARS and CMMC expectations, ISO-related requirements, Australian guidance, and Canadian program readiness. The task is to connect those obligations with a coherent program people can run.

Executive leadership that fits the need

Through Cyber Foundry, I provide virtual, fractional, interim, and embedded CISO leadership. The scope can range from board advice and long-term strategy to program stabilization, incident recovery, and helping an organization modernize securely.

Adopt technology with engineering judgment

I stay close to implementation: early Active Directory deployment at Microsoft, virtualization and security for NMCI, and AI-assisted operational workflows for CoreWeave. My work has also included classified and unclassified solutions, security operations, and compliance documentation.

Experience at the point where decisions become delivery

My background includes full-time work at Microsoft; enterprise architecture and implementation at EDS / HP; cybersecurity leadership at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Ultra Maritime; and a CoreWeave contract engagement. The examples below describe my contribution in each setting.
